Dry Eye Syndrome

Understanding dry eye

Dry eye syndrome develops when your eyes produce too few tears, tears evaporate too quickly, or the tear film does not protect the eye surface effectively. More than one contributor can be present.

What you may notice

Burning, grittiness, redness, sensitivity to light and fluctuating blur can occur. Persistent symptoms deserve an examination rather than relying on appearance alone.

Evaluation and care

We assess your tear film, eyelids and eye surface and review your symptoms and health history. Treatment is tailored to the findings and may include lubricating drops, environmental changes, prescription therapy or other options.

Take breaks during screen use and avoid direct airflow toward your eyes. Follow your doctor’s instructions and arrange follow-up if symptoms continue.
